“Sweet Idea” to lift spirits.

RESIDENTS in West Hampstead are lifting sprits by putting teddy bears in their window for children to spot during their times of permitted exercise during the coronavirus lockdown.

Miki de Goodaboom:

It reminds me of that beautiful vintage Winnie The Pooh that I saw in a window in Fowey, Cornwall, while I was on a painting trip through Devon & Cornwall, in May 2018. I wonder if he is still sitting there, i so much hope he does!

Please let me know if you spotted him!

Or is you spotted Teddy Bears in a window!

While we -Mki de Goodaboom, Truffle McFurry and me- were in Fowey, Cornwall recently, we came across this beautiful antique Winnie the Pooh bear.

I’m not a fan of the stylised Disney bear version which always looks superficial to me, but there was something about this one, sat forlornly in a window that exuded a certain tender gravitas and sweet melancholy, something that spoke of A.A.Milne.

It’s the best Winnie the Pooh I’ve seen!
